Nikiti is a small town located on the second finger (Sithonia) of the popular Greek tourist area of Halkidiki.
The place is 101 km from the center of Thessaloniki or 88 km distance from Thessaloniki airport.
Nikiti has become popular among tourists because of its geographical location. It is located at the very beginning of the second finger, and the area by the sea is relatively flat, which gives this place excellent opportunities to develop tourism.
The beach in Nikiti is long, wide and mostly sandy, and the sea is crystal clear, mostly without large waves and wind gusts. All this contributed to Nikiti becoming one of the fastest-growing places in the area of Halkidiki in the last couple of years.
The place of Nikiti is divided into the old and the new part of the town. The old part of the city is further away from the sea and you can still see the traditional style of architecture, while the new part of the city is by the sea and has newer and more modern houses.
The promenade in Nikiti is spacious and long, and in recent years it has been the center of events in the town itself. At the northern end of the promenade, there is a marina for ships. Along the entire promenade, there are numerous restaurants and cafes, many of which have their gardens right next to the sea.
With its south-eastern part, Nikiti rests on Agios Georgios, a small place of the archaeological site of Sofronios Basilica, which dates back to the beginning of the 5th century. This building is secured by a fence and is not always open to the public, but tourists can surely see it through even when it is closed.
There is an open market in the town where domestic products and consumer products are on sale once a week (on Fridays).
